Lino Printing Full Weekend Workshop | 16-17 March 2019
Lino Printing - Full Weekend Workshop
In this full-weekend workshop, you'll learn the full process of relief printing with lino plates.
On Day One, we'll begin by designing and creating your own lino block. We'll look at how to use the carving tools and some different methods of mark-making. Time permitting, we will start creating some draft prints to get a feel for inking and using the press.
On Day Two, will have you printing your own artworks, learning how to correctly ink the plates, adjust the press and get the best quality print. We'll look at how to print on different types of paper and also onto fabric. You will also learn about methods used to use more than 1 colour in your printed design.
If you have never used lino before, or worked with it years ago in school, by the time you finish this workshop you will be equipped with the skills to confidently print simple images and designs on paper and fabric.
All materials are provided, and you will receive 2 lino plates (300x300mm), 3 sheets of quality paper for your final prints, a tote bag to print on, and a 5-piece lino carving tool kit to keep. Morning and afternoon tea on both days is also provided, all you need to do is BYO lunch and design inspiration.
The class is suitable for beginners (ages 16+) and those with a little more experience.
If you've tried our "Come and Try" lino printing workshop, this class is perfect for extending your skills!
